Things to Do in SEQ
When we’re not exploring Australia, we’re exploring the place we call ‘home’. Follow our experiences as we find family-oriented things to do in Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Ipswich, Toowoomba and beyond. If you’re looking for free and low cost things to do with kids in Brisbane or the wider south-east Queensland area, we hope that you find some inspiration from our adventures.
4WD Instruction Courses
Own a 4WD but are nervous about taking it offroad? Our sand-driving courses will give you the hands-on skills, knowledge and confidence that you need to explore Australia’s sandy regions with confidence. We don’t just teach you how to drive in sand, but also how to recognise and respond to hazards before they become an issue – skills that are essential for all offroad driving environments.
Camping & Touring News
It goes without saying that we just can’t get enough of camping and exploring Australia! Here, we share our experiences and adventures through regional towns and communities, national parks, campgrounds and other touring-related topics. We explore by tent and by camper-trailer, but whatever your style, hopefully there’s something here for you – even if you prefer a more permanent roof over your head.
Our Latest Adventures:
Deon’s Lookout
Deon’s Lookout is an overnight free camp on top of a mesa along the Birdsville Development Road. The Lookout provides uninterrupted views over Channel Country and is definitely worth a visit.
Windorah
I was in Windorah the first time I ever heard the name ‘Taylor Swift’. Now, whenever I hear a Taylor Swift song, all I can think about is Windorah. It’s a small Channel Country town, but what is there to actually do in Windorah?
Fossil Prep – Family Session
We did the family fossil prep program and worked on excavating diprotodon fossils from their jackets, unearthing dirt and rock that hadn’t seen the surface for 40,000 years!
Dinosaurs at Eromanga
Eromanga is home to many significant dinosaur fossils – including Australia’s newest species of dinosaur, which is also one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered in the world.
Eromanga Natural History Museum
Much newer and not (yet) as famous as the Winton dinosaur regions further north, the Eromanga region is quickly becoming the focal point of Australia’s prehistoric past.
